Previous to this trip I have done the Bowron’s twice. They were incredible experiences. In 2017 my granddaughter said she was interested in a canoe trip. I said, "How about we do it together?" And that is how this started.

In discussions with her mother (my daughter) and her Grandmother (my wife), it was obvious this trip was not going to happen with just the two of us. “Just think you are 72 years old what if something happened to you out there? How would Lily get back?”. So I agreed to take a guided trip and made arrangements with Pathways Canada ( Bowron Lakes Canadian Wilderness Guided Canoe Trips & Expeditions ). The guides did a fantastic job and the people in our group were amazing.

So instead of a lengthy write up about our trip, here is a YouTube video I made.

First, let me thank Sarah for publishing some of my adventures. I hope you enjoy reading/watching them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

I am Larry, I retired from a 22-year career with Hewlett Packard. During my career, I got to travel to many parts of the world, Brazil, China, France, Fiji, Italy, the UK most of the US, and Canada. It was a wonderful experience seeing the world, but nothing compares to what I have seen in the backwoods of British Columbia.

As you will see as you read my adventures these trips (which occurred in my late 30s and early 40s) had positive impacts on my life and my relationships. Now I am in my 70s and the desire to explore BC is just as strong, however, age has presented some challenges. The last trip I took with my Grand Daughter two years ago is a memory I will have forever, but it also taught me that I need to modify my trip plans. It was the final strain on my knees and a few months later I had total knee replacements done on both knees. I am now back to normal (OK my normal) and ready to create the best quality of life I can.

I have teamed up with my brother Lew and we are creating a blog to publish what we are doing to achieve our quality of life goals. For those near retirement or in retirement I hope you will find our discussions inspire you to set your goals and make the retirement phase of your life the best it can be.
