Welcome to my blog! I document my adventures in all things outdoors. I am so happy to share my experiences with you!
In the summer of 2001 seven middle-aged men, young at heart embarked on a five-day 240-kilometer mountain bike ride. Starting the journey in Penticton, this was a ride of a lifetime with moments that 20 years later, are still being cherished and laughed about!
Previous to this trip I have done the Bowron’s twice. They were incredible experiences. In 2017 my granddaughter said she was interested in a canoe trip. I said, "How about we do it together?" And that is how this started. Watch my video of one of the most amazing canoe circuits in Western Canada!
On my first wilderness experience I felt intimidated, this was so far out of my comfort zone. My son (14 at the time) and I decided in 1985 we were going to canoe the Bowron Lakes. But the best was yet to come…….something that I will treasure until my last days.
Setting out to backpack the West Coast Trail is another challenge that pushed me out of my comfort zone. But it changed my life for the better. This trail brought us to a point of mutual respect and the bottom line is neither one of us could have done this trip without the other. Coming to that realization changed our relationship forever.
