The Painted Barn Quilt Trail is a community collaboration and offers visitors, families, and locals alike a fun and interactive way to tour their beautiful area! These Barn Quilts tell stories of historical significance and act as a means of guiding visitors to rural areas and businesses. The trail will take you on a journey and will lead you on a historic adventure while highlighting the many farm-based businesses, farming, and family heritage and tell stories that are weaved into the rich history of the area!
The Kingfisher Interpretive Centre is a place of beauty and learning, a place where nature education and human collaboration happen, a place where something bigger than all of us is not only celebrated, it is forever being studied and maintained and projected and protected. Nestled in the heart of the mountains, 25 km east of the charming village of Enderby, is a natural site like non-other in the Shuswap Region. The Kingfisher Interpretive Centre is a non-profit salmon hatchery and environmental education centre.
The patchwork pastures below, the blue and green variegated lakes and forests, springtime wildflowers, and the endless Shuswap skies make this panoramic vista a true treasure of the area! A local and visitor favorite, Mount Rose-Swanson is sure to please all levels of hikers!
